As I write from my desk here in the cold, wet, Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, Chapter 43 is planning our calendar of events for 2019.
In February 2019, our Chapter elected it’s third President. Larry Wells, moved from Vice President to our current President position. Larry has been a board member for five years and is certainly not new to the farming industry. He has been a dairy farmer for 16 years and owns his own construction business also—Appalachian Well Drilling for 20 years!
In 2018, Larry and his son, Josh, started another business— offering cuts of beef from steers that they raised themselves! We are looking forward to working with Larry as our new President! Again, Chapter 43 is planning to attend and show at 8-10 different shows in 3-4 different states.
April 6, 2019
Tractor Supply, Clyde NC April 25-28, 2019
Antique Power, Gray TN May 18, 2019
Foothills Antique Power, Greer SC May 31-June 1, 2019

A list of other shows will be listed in the future.
At each of these shows, we will be displaying our Cub Cadet that we are selling raffle tickets for. Chapter 43 will travel again to Rantoul IL in August for the Half Century of Progress show. Plow Day is scheduled this year for April 13, 2019. Last year’s Plow Day was rained, flooded and washed out with a total of 108 inches of rain recorded here at the farm for the year! With luck, we will get the fields plowed this year! Chapter 43 is on the move!
